Who We Are
Hearth & Haul, a sole proprietorship registered in France (entrepreneur individuel, SIRET 943 105 775 00010). Write to hello@hearthandhaul.com and a person answers, usually the same day.
We sell one product. We are not an advertising company, we do not run a data business, and we have never sold anyone's personal information. We do not intend to start.
What We Collect, And Why
When you buy something. Name, shipping address, billing address, email, phone if you give it. We need these to ship a box to you and to answer you if something goes wrong. Your card number never reaches us. It goes straight to our payment processor.
When you visit. Pages viewed, time on page, the site or ad you arrived from, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type. This is how we find out whether an ad was worth running.
When you write to us. Whatever you put in the email, kept as long as the conversation is useful.
Who Else Sees It
Shopify hosts this store and processes the order. Shopify Payments handles the card. Meta receives measurement events about ads, purchases, and pages viewed, which is how we know which ad brought you here. Our supplier's US warehouse receives your shipping address, because someone has to put the label on the box. Carriers receive the address for the same reason.
That is the whole list. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not hand it to data brokers.
Cross-Site Tracking By Third Parties
We use the Meta advertising pixel. It is a third-party technology, and it can recognise the same browser across other websites that also use it. That is what makes it possible for us to know an ad worked. We disclose it here because California law requires us to say so plainly.
Do Not Track, And Global Privacy Control
Browsers can send two different signals.
Do Not Track (DNT). There is no agreed standard for what a website should do when it receives this signal, so we do not act on it. We are telling you that rather than leaving you to guess.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). We do act on this one. If your browser sends GPC, we stop sharing your information for advertising, which switches the Meta pixel off for you, and we apply it immediately without asking you again. We keep the plain visit counts described above, the ones that tell us whether an ad was worth running. If you want those off as well, email us and we will do it the same day.
Your Choices
Turn measurement off at any time. Send GPC from your browser, or email hello@hearthandhaul.com and we will do it the same day. We used to show a cookie notice on this site and we removed it on August 16, 2026, because it was switching measurement off for people who had not chosen that. Cart cookies stay either way, because without them your cart empties between pages.
US State Privacy Laws
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We honour those requests from anyone who asks, wherever they live, rather than checking your state first.
Children
This product is not for children and this store is not directed at them. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
How Long We Keep It
Order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Support emails for as long as they are useful. Measurement data for the shorter of what Shopify and Meta retain by default.
Where It Goes
We are in France. Shopify and Meta operate in the United States and elsewhere. Your information therefore crosses borders, which is unavoidable for an online store and which we would rather state than bury.
When This Changes
August 16, 2026. We removed the cookie notice, and we said plainly what we do when a browser sends Global Privacy Control: we stop sharing your information for advertising, and we keep the plain visit counts. Nothing changed about what we collect, or about who receives it.
